At Preting Consulting, we are proud of the way we engage our employees and give back to help raise awareness to our partners who are doing good work around the world.
How did #PretingPerks start?
We made #PretingPerks official in May 2015. How did we make it official? The same way many small companies do such things – by deeming it so!
#Preting Perks started as a way to engage our employees and offer rewards for their hard work. Each month, we select a different company or cause to support. We pick a mix of companies that sell a product or organizations that do good. We support the entity by purchasing goods for our employees or giving donations. We then promote them on social media with the hashtag #PretingPerks to share their good work with our community.
Causes and Organizations We’ve Supported
Since launching #PretingPerks, we have sponsored 24 amazing causes and impacted everything from clean water in Africa to the cutest pets in the world. Here are a few of the organizations we have supported:
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
To involve our employees in how we supported this awesome organization, we created a survey allowing employees to select which animal Preting should sponsor. It was one of our most participated in Perks to date. Denzel, a dog with a tragic past, was the overwhelming winner. (Note: Denzel sadly lost his battle to health issues last month. We were grateful to have offered funds to help the organization provide him a safe, loving home until the end.)
Cotopaxi
We supported Cotopaxi by purchasing t-shirts for our team. They create innovative outdoor products and experiences that fund sustainable poverty relief, move people to do good, and inspire adventure.
Klean Kanteen
We supported Klean Kanteen by purchasing their reusable water bottles for our employees. Their mission is to help keep the world “klean” by creating eco-friendly products.
Women’s Bean Project
We purchased delicious soup and cornbread for our employees from the Women’s Bean Project. They provide transitional job training to chronically unemployed, impoverished women to help them become self-sustaining.
If you are looking for creative ways for your business to give back and provide perks to your staff, I encourage you to support organizations that are doing good. Please take a moment to visit the websites of the organizations I mentioned above or search #PretingPerks on Twitter to see other ideas for causes to support.
